CYR LUMBER BUYS HAMILTON

WINDHAM, N.H.—
On June 27, Cyr Lumber purchased the
former Hamilton Building Supply
located in Warner, N.H. Cyr plans
to completely renovate and redo
the interior of the store, turning it into an Ace Hardware.
Also a full service contractor retail lumber yard along with
Benjamin Moore paints will be added.
Cyr Lumber Company’s original store in Windham was
founded in 1984, and in September the company will be cel-
ebrating its 30
th
anniversary.

New Hampshire Retail Lumber Association (NHRLA) con-
gratulates all of its scholarship winners and thanks all ap-
plicants. This year there was a record number of applica-
tions, making for a very difficult decision-making process.

WARD LUMBER ANNOUNCES
SIDNEY J.WARD SR. MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIPWINNER
JAY, N.Y.—
Ward Lumber selected Cody Lawrence as the win-
ner of this year’s Sidney J. Ward Sr. Memorial Scholarship.
Lawrence is the son of Darren Lawrence, log sealer/timber
buyer for Ward Lumber, and Laura Lawrence. He will receive
$1,000 for one year of college study. Lawrence will be begin-
ning his first year at North Country Community College in
Saranac Lake, N.Y. this fall, pursuing a degree in Forestry.
The selection process is based on scholastic achieve-
ment, community and extracurricular activities, personal
aspirations, and financial need. The scholarship was estab-
lished in 1971 as a tribute to Sidney J. Ward Sr. who, while
only completing the 8th grade before going to work to sup-
port his family, believed in encouraging and promoting edu-
cation, scholastic achievement, and good citizenship.
