quarter ended July 5, 2014.
“We are pleased to report fiscal 2014 second quarter adjusted EBITDA of $10.6
million and net income of $3.2 million,” said Mitch Lewis, president and CEO.
“This result is encouraging as we are beginning to see the benefits from our key
business initiatives as well as our restructuring efforts undertaken last year, which
continue to position the company for future success. Adjusted EBITDA of $10.6
million during the second quarter is the company’s best quarterly adjusted EBITDA
in the last five years, represents an improvement of approximately $14.1 million
from the second quarter of 2013, and marks the fourth consecutive quarter of year
over year improvement.”
Revenues on a same center basis for the fiscal second quarter ended July
5, 2014, decreased $39.4 million or 6.9% compared to the fiscal second quarter
ended June 29, 2013. Taking into account revenues from the company’s closed
centers, revenues for the fiscal 2014 second quarter fell 12.1% to $531.5 million
from $604.6 million in the year-ago period. The same center sales decline primar-
we generated stronger earnings, adjusted EBITDA and revenue during the second
quarter. We were also pleased to announce we amended and extended our credit
facility in the second quarter. The new facility provides us with increased financial
flexibility. We believe this demonstrates a general confidence in our track record
and financial performance.”
