Boral TruExterior Siding Adds Two New Bevel Profiles
Beaded Bevel offers authentic beaded look; Rabbeted Bevel speeds installation.
Boral® is expanding its TruExterior® Bevel Siding line with the addition of Beaded Bevel and Rabbeted Bevel. Each profile combines authentic wood looks with the high performance, moisture resistance, and durability of Boral’s proprietary poly-ash material.
The new Beaded Bevel adds a bead to the bottom of the company’s 6-, 8-, and 10-inch Bevel profiles. The milled bead mimics a popular but hard-to-find wood style, providing a rich, historically accurate detail ideal for Craftsman, Colonial, and other traditional-leaning homes.
Rabbeted Bevel, also available in all three Bevel siding sizes, includes a pocket on the back that nests into the panel below, presetting each panel to the proper spacing. The profile ensures an accurate, consistent reveal while speeding installation.
“The addition of Beaded Bevel and Rabbeted Bevel continues our drive to provide a high-level aesthetic in a high-performance siding material,” says Aaron Sims, Product Manager for Boral’s Light Building Products Division. “They combine the beauty and authenticity homeowners are craving without the maintenance or durability concerns.”
Like all TruExterior Siding, Rabbeted Bevel and Beaded Bevel are made with Boral’s proprietary blend of polymers and fly ash. The formulation provides for a high level of dimensional stability for reduced expansion and contraction, and durability for resistance to warping, cracking, and splitting. As a result, the siding requires no sealing of ends or cuts in the field, it can be used in ground-contact applications, and it can be painted any color, including dark hues.
Boral TruExterior Siding is made in the USA, contains a minimum of 70% recycled content, and carries a 20-year limited warranty.
