Curtis Lumber Readies for Grand Opening of New East Greenbush Store Location

The new state of the art store will better serve builders and do-it-yourselfers’ home improvement needs

Curtis Lumber readies for its Grand Opening Celebration of its East Greenbush store location. The celebration will be held on Friday, June 25 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The rebuild featured a brand new 25,550 sq.-foot store on 12 acres and comes after acquiring two new stores and conducting extensive renovations to modernize them to Curtis Lumber standards. The new Richmondville, N.Y. location opened in January of this year and a second new store in Sidney, N.Y. is expected to open in August.

Vice President of Sales, Rich Keating said, “it’s pretty exciting that we will have a big, brand-new store in the East Greenbush market and we are able to put two other stores back on the map in the I-88 corridor in smaller, tight-knit communities.”

The new East Greenbush location is about 7,500 sq.-feet larger than the existing store and finished with the modern amenities Curtis Lumber customers have come to expect. The current store was repurposed to a warehouse to support the new larger location.

The new store is expected to help increase sales because its location has better visibility to traffic on Route 20. The building also includes a larger showrooms for kitchen, window and lighting sections, providing contractors and homeowners more room to shop.

The project was designed by Cotler Architecture of Latham. Munter Enterprises is the general contractor overseeing construction. The new store is expected to open during the first quarter of 2021. To follow progress or learn more visit
