Maine Lumber Dealers Host Gubernatorial Candidates Forum

With Maine’s Governor, Paul LePage, serving his final year in office, candidates for the State’s highest office came to the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine’s (RLDAM) January meeting. The January 24 event gave candidates an opportunity to meet with industry leaders from across the State to learn about the lumber and building material (LBM) industry’s needs and how local, independent businesses can help the State prosper.
In all, the seven candidates for Governor attended the meet and greet to hear from RLDAM members. There are currently 25 candidates in the race, which will be contested in November 2018.
Gubernatorial Candidates in attendance included:
Small Business Owner Alan Caron
Sen. Mark Dion
Rep. Ken Fredette
Treasurer Terry Hayes
Attorney General Janet Mills
Businessman Shawn Moody
Senate President Mike Thibodeau

RLDAM has over 104 member businesses across Maine. The association was established in 1933 to foster the mutual interests of those engaged in the retail lumber business, lumber products, building materials and building specialists in the State of Maine. RLDAM is one of fourteen state and local associations across the Northeast associated with the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA).
